And continues....

Up this morning bright but not so early. Vacation mode has kicked in!

We finally have a destination in mind. We are headed to Niagra Falls so this morning we headed north through North Carolina, Virginia and into West Virginia. West Virginia is known as the mountain state and now I know why! The drive has been beautiful. Ron has enjoyed the "curvy roads", but they would be more fun in his mustang.

West Virginia is also know for its coal mining industry. We stopped in Beckley to tour an old coal mine. We rode down in a mine train car and got to experience a little of what the miners encountered. It is very claustrophobic and those men and their families had an extremely hard life.

We cruised on up highway 77 to Ripley where we will stay the night.

We didn't get in as much walking as we did yesterday so we put on our tennis shoes and made a few laps around the parking lot.

Tomorrow we will try to make it almost to Buffalo, NY because Ron has a lot of things we want to do there.
